Light Up Kilburn

Kaleidoscope for Kilburn

February 2024

Kaleidoscope for Kilburn was a site-specific window installation for the Light Up Kilburn festival, inspired by artist Andy Welland’s Loose Ends collage series. Backlit nightly, it lit up the street as a vibrant celebration of colour and community.

Through a cut in the artwork, six adults (50+, living with a diagnosis) from Kiln Theatre performed a 20-minute dance piece, exploring “What does the Kiln mean to me?” — repeated six times and warmly received by passersby.

As choreographer, facilitator, and movement director, I led a process rooted in reflection, joy, and shared memory. The result: a living, breathing collage of movement, stories, and connection.

Thank you to Andy Welland, Kiln Theatre, Romario and Stella and the brilliant participants.
